About Us
AllAshland is a brand new site and, as with all new sites, there may be some hiccups but we have the experience and backup to operate it efficiently. The people who actually built the site, Spire Ad, in downtown Ashland, is our back up, fix it team. Talking about teams, we are a very small one, Ross and Martha. I have a few years experience on different site projects. We live right here in Ashland and we take frequent county cruising trips. We start outside of town in a prior selected direction, and when we come to a stop sign we take turns calling right, left, or straight ahead. We’ve ended up South of Wooster and nearby. It’s truly fun! We’ve traveled a bit, but we like what we have here, except for gray, cold winter days. Well, I guess that only serves to intensify our love of the outdoors in spring, summer, and early fall. Martha and I have two grown children, one here in Ashland and one in Columbus with his wife and our two grandsons, Alex (Big Al) who is eight months and Christopher who is four. Their grandmother says they are absolutely precious and I agree.
Do we hope to make money from operating AllAshland ? Yes, we certainly do. Our thinking at the beginning and most likely into the future is to allow all individuals, posting for non-commercial, not for profit events, is to charge 0$s, zip, zilch, nada. A garage sale will incur a very modest charge, far less than the newspaper. We will charge businesses for event listings, like sales, company meetings, etc. If a business wants a permanent or longer term presence on AllAshland, we’ll be glad to make that happen via an ongoing event and/or banner advertising, for a reasonable price. How will people know of the site? One way is for you to tell them about it. We also plan to actively market the site. Maybe run a Word Of Mouth contest, or photo contest.
What sort of events can be posted? One thing that will not be tolerated is events that may
offend others. Sure, someone will be offended by something, but don’t offend intentionally. Additionally, members will be able to report offenders and then it will be our responsibility to decide if the reportedly offensive event posting should be removed, or should stay. We look forward To serving all of Ashland County and we will make every effort to do so.
Well, I guess that’s about it for now. Please send us email with suggestions, or criticisms.
